 The Steadicam Zephyr / Scout / Pilot Workshops
All Zephyr/Scout/Pilot Workshops are instructed by Dan Ikeda unless otherwise noted. Tuition is $600.00 USD pre-paid to secure your spot. To enroll in a particular Steadicam Workshop, click on the link at the top of the page that reads, "Reserve
A Workshop".
Start time is 8:30am each day. On Day 1 we wrap at 5:00 p.m.. On Day 2, we wrap by 6:00 p.m. Each workshop class is limited to 9 students. The Tiffen Company provides all Steadicam systems and materials.
Housing and dinner is not provided for this 2 Day Workshop. Breakfast and lunch are provided during the class both days. Attendees receive a Certificate of Completion and Steadicam t-shirt.
When registering for this or any workshop, consider the following. The two full days of instruction hinge on full participation by all attendees. Make every effort to insure that travel plans permit attendance through 6:30 PM on the second day.

A great opportunity to work with the latest high capacity Steadicam systems (Zephyr, Archer 2, Shadow and Ultra 2) with instruction from Tiffen staff or approved international instructors following a syllabus approved by Steadicam inventor Garrett Brown. The Silver Workshop is designed for students with existing camera experience looking to expand their career options by adding stabilisation operation to their armoury, as well as working Steadicam operators seeking to advance or add to their Steadicam skill set. Numbers are limited to 12 students. The New Zealand Workshop will be held at Avalon Studios, Wellington, under the lead instruction of Rebecca Wilson-Jennings supported by accredited international Steadicam instructors, 'guest' Steadicam operators, and local distributor, A2Z Technologies. - Vehicle Mount Use of ultra long post feature for super low mode and super high mode
- Balance of the Steadicam. Dynamic and Static Balance
- Running work on stairs and uneven surfaces
- Operating from both sides. ( Left and Right side Steadicam )
- Compositional skills and techniques
- Integration of accessories: Follow Focus, on-board recording, HD/SD
- Evening discussions of shots, screening clips and deconstructing shot design
- Operator's Night

November 10-16, 2013. The Eastern Classic Steadicam Workshop
This 6-day Steadicam Workshop is being held in beautiful Historic Banning Mills south of Atlanta, Georgia. Nestled in the woods around an immense gorge and rolling waters of a river, this locale offers a rich combination of outdoor terrain and first0class accommodations. This intensive immersion workshop features all of the latest Steadicam systems. Lead Instructor Jerry Holway and 3-4 other highly experienced Steadicam Operator/ Instructors bring the 8am-10pm experience to 20 students. Tuition is $ 3,500.00 and includes housing, meals and instruction.
